"Natron is a free open-source, cross-platform compositing software. It aims to produce visual effects." That said, how it does this baffles me entirely. Is that effects for images, video, what? Looks snazzy though.

Until earlier today I only knew two things about Gary, Indiana - its name, and that it was in Indiana - and that only came from THE MUSIC MAN.  I watched an episode of a series about life after Humanity, and Gary was used as an example of what happens to an unlived -in city after 30 years.

It seems that Gary was a company town for US Steel and and when that declined so did the city. The population dropped from 200,000 (less than 1/2 the population of the city area I live in) to below 80,000. As it did, houses and other places were just left abandoned. This article shows some of them.

Steam Punk drawing

image
steampunk 1 by Laura Ess, on Flickr

Something I did to get out of a deep depression following an anxiety attack - decided to draw myself as a steampunk lady. The rifle is based on a Warehouse 13 prop. The background is based on a late Victorian telescope.

Looks sorta cool, but don't build in a flood plain. This makes me think of a Hobbit hole but above ground.

The last time I looked at Krita (back in 2007) it was an overly simple drawing program. This time it seems to have updated to a fully functional painting and comic making program. Nice!

Sorry if this has been posted before, as it's an older article, but I hadn't seen it before and found it interesting.

Synching can be an issue when you have a home network . The Windows powertoy is fine, but this looks much more useful.
